Beverley Police Station could be relocated

Keep Beverley Police Station in Our Community

Beverley Police Station is at risk of being moved from its long-standing home on New Walk into County Hall.

The Police and Crime Commissioner says this will make policing “more visible and accessible.” Alas, many local people feel that this change will take the police further away from the community they serve.

A police station should be at the heart of the town, open and welcoming to all. Moving it into County Hall raises real concerns for Beverley residents:

Accessibility: People need to know they can reach their police station easily at any time of day.

Visibility: A station on New Walk is a clear and trusted landmark — a place the public know they can turn to in times of need.

Community Connection: Our police station isn’t just a building. It represents reassurance, safety and a visible link between residents and those who serve us.

Continuity: Generations in Beverley have relied on a dedicated police station. That link should not be lost for future generations.

We believe Beverley deserves to keep a police station that is rooted in the community, visible, and accessible to all who live, work and visit here.

By signing this petition, you are calling on the Police and Crime Commissioner and Humberside Police to:

  • Keep Beverley Police Station in a community-based location.
  • Ensure the station remains visible and accessible for everyone.
  • Protect the strong connection between Beverley residents and their local police. Let’s send a clear message: policing belongs in our community.
