Lin Dems bring progress on Anlaby's St Thomas More field

Liberal Democrat councillor Margot Sutton has secured real progress at St Thomas More Field after months of campaigning and pushing council officials to take action.
Following repeated pressure from Cllr Sutton and feedback from local residents, a new protective bund has now been installed at the east end of the field. This will help prevent unauthorised access and keep the space safe for everyone.
Margot also pushed for the overgrown vegetation in the area to be cut back, making it feel more open and cared for. On the northeast side, Hull City Council completed a rewilding project in the pocket park, after Margot raised the need for investment in green spaces.
The unsightly shipping containers at the southeast end of the field are now due to be removed. This is another issue Margot has been raising directly with council officers. And following her calls, East Riding Council has agreed to introduce a faster process for removing unauthorised users from the site.
Lib Dem Councillor Margot Sutton said: "I’ve been working hard to make sure this field is protected, safe and welcoming. Residents have told me what matters, and I’ve made sure council teams listen and act.
