EU bulletin 15th January 2016 UKIP's slur against British civil servant

Conservatives' Inflation-busting Council Tax rise condemned

Reacting to the news that Hinckley and Bosworth's Conservative administration intends to increase the Council Tax by 4.5%, Lib Dem Opposition Leader Cllr Stuart Bray (Lib Dem, Hinckley Castle) said: "We will be opposing this inflation-busting rise. During the last Lib Dem administration we froze Council Tax for 5 consecutive years, protected front-line services and put money away for a rainy day. After less than a year the Tories have already made a mess of it. "The last Conservative administration hiked up Council Tax and other charges and it's happening all over again. The last Lib Dem Council set in place new ways for the Council to make money on land it proposed to sell off, if the Conservatives had continued that at the pace we had intended then it was very likely that no increase would have been necessary again this year." North Yorkshire Minerals and Waste Joint Plan. Deadline 5pm Friday 15th January

This is just quick post to ask you to respond to a very important consultation called the Minerals and Waste Joint Plan. This document decides North Yorkshire policy on minerals and waste for all sorts of things - including fracking - for the next 15 years. It will only take you five minutes (or longer if you would like to spend more time on it, of course), so please do it today.

News from Rickmansworth Liberal Democrats - Three Rivers, a Lib Dem Run Council

We have had a temporary reprieve from the Station Road Closure but it will operate again from 8.00pm on Saturday 16th January to 5.00am on Monday 8th February. Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times via the western walk way. Part of Victoria Close will be closed from 6th January to 14th April to accommodate the construction of the bridge deck. The subway will remain open for pedestrian access. The 24hr Helpline is 0343 222 2424 ……………………………………………………………………. Serves U Right -Some Good News. At long last we have had a response from the person managing the premises, and he has agreed to our request to clear up/clean up the front of the shop which has looked really scruffy for months. We are told this work will be done next week ! Could this have anything to do with the planning application on these premises, 151 High Street and 149 next door, to change the use from Class A1 (shop) to Cl.A3 restaurant and café ? The application is 15/2536/FUL and can be seen on Three Rivers District Council
