Folkestone Film Factory Summer Schools

Over the summer, Folkestone Film Factory is running a series of five-day film workshops for 8 to 15 year olds, in which they will get the chance to make their own film. Last summer saw the making of an apocalyptic disaster film, a zombie dance-off and a surrealist comic art film. Each workshop is limited to 10 places to ensure participants have the chance to try every aspect of film-making.

Liberal Democrat welcome Tories School Transport U-turn

The Liberal Democrat Group on Leicestershire County Council has welcomed a U-turn by the Conservatives to give a temporary reprieve to a number of Home to school bus routes. In paper to next Tuesday's Cabinet, it is recommended that Home to school transport is not cut pending a Scrutiny review of the current eligibility criteria.

No reprieve for Blue Badge holders

Turning their usual blind eyes and deaf ears to outraged public opinion, Epsom & Ewell's ruling Residents Party have succeeded in forcing through their divisive policy of charging disabled "Blue Badge" holders in all borough council car parks by just 2 votes.
