South Lakes MP Tim Farron welcomed a dedicated £15 million fund, announced by the Government, for the repair of roofs on listed church buildings.

Overslade Lane Seepage
Severn Trent have been probing the mysterious water seepage along Overslade Lane. Their underground cameras have found a drain that even they did not know about but dye tests have shown that this drain is not the source of the problem. Severn Trent need to return and clear the drain of roots but at present are no nearer a solution. Cllr Bill Lewis is continuing to press both Severn Trent and Rugby Borough Council on this issue.

WC bus pass cutbacks hit disabled
Wiltshire Council recently held a consultation on whether bus passes used by elderly and disabled people should be restricted to use after 9am or after 9.30am. The present situation, where they can be used at any time, was not an option.

Tories Accused of “Washing Their Hands” of Snibston
The Liberal Democrats have called for the Tories on Leicestershire County Council to stop washing their hands and to work more constructively with voluntary groups in putting together a viable plan to save Snibston.
