A Living Archive for Stamford?

Lib Dem Mayor of Stamford, Cllr Maureen Jalili, has proposed that a 'Living Archive' be created for the town of Stamford to capture not only the memories of more senior citizens within Stamford, but also for the younger population to give their views on life in Stamford in the 21st Century.

Well done Shepway: Unanimous support for Council Gurkha motion

Shepway Council tonight (9 July) unanimously passed a motion in support of a fair deal for Gurkhas, with speeches of support for the motion from Lib Dem, Conservative and People First Councillors. The motion called for equality for Gurkha soldiers in pay and pension rights, and the right of abode in the United Kingdom for Gurkha soldiers and their families.

Matthews: Conservatives walk away from phone mast battle

Shepway campaigner Neil Matthews has slated the Conservatives for refusing to support Lib Dem calls to tighten up planning rules on mobile phone masts. Currently, fewer restrictions govern planning applications for phone masts up to 15 metres in height, often making it difficult for councils to refuse permission for controversial proposals.
