A Third Of Tax Credit Payments Are For The Wrong Amount

Almost a third of tax credit payments have been for the wrong amount, figures obtained by the Liberal Democrats have revealed. More than 2m families have been repeatedly overpaid in the 5 years since tax credits were introduced, answers to Parliamentary Questions show. The number of families repeatedly underpaid was up 42% to almost 1m over the same period. A staggering 50,000 families have been taken to court in pursuit of overpayments in the last three years.

Nick Clegg today emailed Delga's supporters saying, "Gordon Brown has finally announced the General Election will be held on May 6th. This election is a really exciting opportunity. The choice in this election is between more of the same with Labour and the Conservatives or real change with the Liberal Democrats. People have a real choice. That's why this election is wide open.

General Election Called: Gordon Brown's Final Prime Minster's Questions Tomorrow

The General Election date has finally been confirmed for 6th May, exactly one month from today. Nick Clegg has called this 'the beginning of the end for Gordon Brown', and what will be Gordon Brown's final Prime Minister's Questions before the election will take place tomorrow. Richard Younger-Ross will be there, and will try to catch the Speaker's eye to ask a question. He'd like to hear from his constituents any suggestions that they have for the most important questions to ask the Prime Minister before parliament is dissolved for the election campaign.
