10% of our economy is…rubbish!

Local MP, Tim Farron today secured a frightening admission from the Government during a meeting of the Environmental Audit Committee. When probing officials on environmental policy, Tim Farron was told that £1.7 billion tonnes of un-recycled waste is generated in each year - this equates to 10% of all the resources produced in the UK.

Farron meets with 'NHS Together' lobby in Parliament

Local MP Tim Farron met yesterday with representatives from the NHS Together lobby in Westminster. The lobby aims to persuade the Government to reconsider the planned reforms of the Health Service and to rally support for the NHS.

Lib Dems petition as Ettingshall Park set to lose bus service

Travel West Midlands has decided to reroute bus service 223 back though the Beacon Hill Estate missing out Ettingshall Park. Springvale Liberal Democrats fought hard for to get the service to run through Ettingshall Park and only found out by chance that it was to be rerouted from November 26th. There has been no consultation with residents or elected councillors. Cllr Richard Whitehouse said, "This is diabolical, the service is far better used now than it ever was before so I do not think the alteration has been done for sound commercial reasons. Some people on Beacon Hill Estate got their Labour MP to make representations to Travel West Midlands."
