Tina Liddington is a well established member of the local community and lives in Knaphill. Tina works at the Goldsworth Park Health Centre where she meets local residents regularly.
James Sanderson grew up in Woking and has lived here most of his life. James is married to Alison and they have four children that attend or have attended Goldsworth Primary School. James is a qualified chartered accountant and works for a financial services company in London.
Mayor Dave Hodgson has echoed a stark warning from the Local Government Association (LGA) that local services are being placed under severe threat not only by unprecedented government cuts but also spiralling cost pressures imposed on Councils. The LGA has calculated that Councils face an additional £10 billion of cost pressures by 2020, with over £6 billion of this comprising government policies to be implemented over the period.
Ahead of the Housing debate at Bournemouth, ALTER's Dr Tony Vickers has written a paper that points out that the "Housing Crisis" is not really about how many new homes can be built but about how we make better use of the 98% of homes we already have. Drawing on research by the Intergenerational Foundation, he points the finger at massive under-occupation by pensioners of owner-occupied family homes, encouraged by government.
