Residents can still recycle their real Christmas tree at any of Herts County Council's Household Waste Recycling Centres. In Dacorum these are located in Eastman Way in Hemel Hempstead and in Northbridge Road in Berkhamsted. Residents are reminded not to leave their trees at any of the borough's other recycling sites, as this will be treated as fly-tipping.

New research from the Social Market Foundation's (SMF) Commission on Inequality in Education suggests that inequality in educational achievement between regions has grown over the past thirty years. The commission, launched on Tuesday morning by its chair, former Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, is an independent, cross-party initiative which is examining the causes and effects of inequality in education at primary and secondary levels in England and Wales.
