The ruling Labour Group again denied the Liberal Democrat Group a place on Blackburn with Darwen's Executive Board. Despite have 9 seats on the Council they are not allowed to sit on the body that makes most of the key decisions.
At the last Blackburn with Darwen Council meeting Labour councillors failed to stick up for what they believed and were forced by the party whips to toe the party line.

Cllr Cllr David Kendall attended the public meeting to discuss Brentwood Fire Station on Wednesday 1st February and received assurances that the station was not under threat of closure and that two applicances would remain, although one would now be staffed by retained fire fighters rather than a full time crew.
"Under Labour, social mobility stalled, youth unemployment rose and educational inequality increased. As Liam Byrne said, they left us with no money and a toxic debt to clear."
