Campaign to get rid of the stigma for mental health begins

A campaign to reduce the stigma around mental health in children has been launched by the government. It will use school visits and social media to urge young people and parents to talk more about mental health. Health Minister Alistair Burt said the campaign was "the largest ever" and would include an online hub of mental health information.

Hole in Sunnyside Road: We've Looked Into It...

A resident from Sunnyside Road has been in touch about a serious problem with a hole in Sunnyside Road off Sandgate Esplanade. The hole appeared some weeks ago, and Kent Highways had investigated but said it is a Southern Water responsibility and it had effectively coned off and left.

Allow teachers a common sense approach to holidays say councils With the October half term set to start next week (Monday, 26th October), the Local Government Association (LGA), which represents 370 councils across the country, is calling for headteachers to be allowed to give reasonable consideration to term-time leave requests and for a change in the rules from the Department for Education (DfE).
