Call for Doctor's Surgery

Liberal Democrat campaigners in Brentwood South are calling on the local Health Authority to provide a Doctors Surgery or at the very least some medical services for the residents living on or near the Estates. At present residents needing the Doctors have to either travel into Brentwood or Shenfield for their nearest surgery and this causes a great deal of anxiety and frustration particularly for the many elderly residents in the area who have to use the bus.

Pulling Together for the Bedford Rowing and Watersports Lake!

On Wednesday this week I attended the formal start of landscaping for the Bedford Rowing and Watersports Lake. In fact, I even had the honour of planting the first tree! The vent was held to mark not only the start of the landscaping, but also the fact that the Bedford River Valley Park enabling development for the Rowing and Watersports Lake is now in the Council's draft Allocations and Designations Plan. The fact that the land is now on course to be allocated for the enabling development, which will feature an extended campus and sports facilities for the University of Bedfordshire and much-needed extra-care retirement homes, is a major step towards the delivery of the lake.

The West Midlands region under the previous Government paid £14m to private sector operators to carry out operations.

It is the final weekend of the Census. The Humanist and Secularist Liberal Democrats, along with the British Humanist Association, are urging all non-religious people to declare themselves as "non-religious" on their census form.
