Southwell Leisure Centre is one of a very few Centres that is owned by the residents of the town, and run by a Trust. It is very well used. At the moment it makes a modest surplus and the Trustees are planning to invest the money in further improvements.
Most Families in Southwell will face a £100 or more County Council Tax hike in April*. Last year with Labour in control the County Council raised the tax by 5%. This year under the Conservatives it is also 5% including a 2% Social Care precept.
This Tuesday Brighton & Hove for EU arranged for The Big Truth Bus to visit the city - this bus is currently touring the country in order to spread awareness of the true economic cost of Brexit while lampooning the infamous Vote Leave bus.
