Lib Dem membership surge in the city and across the country

Commenting on the surge in Lib Dem party membership in recent days, local party chair Hugh Janes said, "An impromptu coffee morning was held on Saturday 2nd July to welcome new members to the Plymouth Liberal Democrats. In just one week since the EU referendum result there has been a rise over a quarter in the number of people in the party locally. People have joined from different parts of the city, are of various ages and backgrounds and, significantly, several have left the Labour and Conservative parties to join us.

Leave Campaigners still lying to the public

Commenting on the report by the Bank of England's Financial Policy Committee, Lib Dem Treasury spokesperson Susan Kramer said, "The Leaders of the Brexit campaign, including Andrea Leadsom, have been quick to claim that any hit to our economy was a minor blip and already in the past. The Bank of England's report shows that those who lied during the campaign are continuing to treat the public like fools even now. They need to stop pretending all is well and start acting in the interests of the country.

Local Lib Dem membership doubles

The membership of the Shipley & Keighley Lib Dems has doubled in the last year following a rush of new members joining after the General Election and the result of the EU referendum.
