When Wolverhampton's Mayor, Councillor Christine Mills, declared the results of the city's 2009 Youth Elections in the Council Chamber, one of the successful candidates was Walker Darke, the youngest member of Wolverhampton South West Liberal Democrats. Walker is the son of Park Ward Councillor Claire Darke and Dr Paul Darke. He attends St. Edmund's School.

The report on the "Roaming 2" regulation, drafted by ALDE (Lib Dem) MEP Adina-Ioana Valean from Romania extends the regulation for voice roaming and widens its scope to include roaming SMS text and data services, as well as including more transparency measures.
