Keep Me Posted Campaign Receives Boost from Liberal Democrat Candidate Chris Took

Chris Took gives support to Keep Me Posted campaign and pledges to fight for consumer rights if elected Keep Me Posted has been pressing for the consumer's right to choose how organisations, such as banks, energy and telecoms companies sendcustomers their bills and statements, whether online or on paper. The call comes in the face of an increasing trend for businesses to switch their customers to mainly digital communication, which isn't always preferable or suitable for a large proportion of UK consumers.

Wiltshire consults on flooding

The council's 'Local Flood Risk Management Strategy' will be considered by the cabinet next Tuesday (Dec 16th). As with most WC documents it's rather wordy and repetitive but it attempts the difficult job of setting out how the council will deal with the threat of flooding. The production of the strategy is a government requirement.

Mere's brush company can relocate

Two planning applications, one for the erection of a new factory for the Hill Brush Company Limited, and the other for the re-development of the existing factory site for housing, went to Wiltshire's Strategic Planning Committee on December 10th.

"All Together Now" single poster

Stars re-record hit song for the Shorncliffe Trust and the British Red Cross

On the 100th anniversary of the Christmas Day Truce, during World War One, which inspired The Farm's 1990 hit All Together Now, many of the UK's biggest music stars have united as The Peace Collective, to re-record the song. The new track features a backing choir of schoolboy footballers from the Premier League and German Bundesliga. All profits from the release, out December 15th, will go to the Shorncliffe Trust and the British Red Cross.
