On the eve of the Yorkshire Dales National Park authority meeting tomorrow where the future of 72 Main Street is decided, local MP Tim Farron has called on board members to 'back the bid' of local residents who want to take over the building and put it in trust for the community.
The programme, run by the Liberal Democrats, provides training and mentoring to under-represented groups in a bid to give minorities a better chance of becoming an MP.

Lib Dems on Leicestershire County Council recently obtained a copy of a Judicial Review that involved the County Council and EMCARE, the consortium that represents private care home providers in the County. The issue that has ended up in front of the high court turned out to be fairly simple - the County Council hadn't monitored nor knew the actual cost of providing a place for an elderly person in a care home in Leicestershire.
Local MP Tim Farron has today written to the south of Cumbria coroner; asking him to help uncover the truth of the impact of removing coronary care and other acute services from Westmorland General Hospital.
