Huge Success for Winter Homeless Shelter

The Folkestone Winter Shelter has helped 29 people with overnight accommodation, food and support in just 7 weeks. The shelter provides a place to stay for those who would otherwise sleep rough. During the coldest months of December to February, the project brings together local churches, organisations and volunteers.

Cllr Stuart Bray (Lib Dem, Hinckley Castle Ward) has asked for a well used jitty in the town centre to get cleaned up. The walkway between Priesthills Road and Mount Road is used by many people walking to the town centre.

Parents should not be blamed for speech problems

Long-term speech and language problems are wrongly being blamed on parents not talking to their children and too much television, research suggests. A survey for the Communication Trust reveals common misconceptions about the cause of serious communication difficulties. The charity says the exact cause of such problems is often unknown.
