Town Mayor of Folkestone's Christmas Charity Auction [Update - 1 Dec: POSTPONED]

This Wednesday 1 December starting at 7pm at Quarterhouse, Tontine Street, celebrity guest auctioneer Michael Hogben will be hosting the Town Mayor of Folkestone's Christmas Charity Auction. With 32 lots of art donated from artists across the area, the auction is a great opportunity to pick up a work of art and support the Mayors Charities - B-4-8s and the Rainbow Centre.

Brentwood North's Cllr Ross Carter has questioned the activities of Essex and Brentwood Councils after receiving multiple calls from residents who are stranded or facing dangerous conditions in an effort to go about their normal daily business.

Weather Bulletin - Wednesday 1st December

Waste and recycling services are suspended until the weather improves. It is as much the difficulties of the refuse vehicles to get around, as it is the problems for residents in putting their bins out and for the operatives to get to bins on "assisted" collections.

Helping our Heroes

Concern about the needs of service personnel has prompted Lemington Councillor Laurence Hunter to take positive action. He explains "We must also remember the needs of the living. I serve on the City Council's Health and Well-being Scrutiny Panel and have raised concerns about ensuring our returning ex-service personnel are given the support they need. This is especially important for those who have suffered physical or psychological trauma."
