Westmorland and Lonsdale MP Tim Farron has pledged to be in Parliament tomorrow to give his support to a new parliamentary bill aimed at ending fuel poverty.
MP Tim Farron today had a high level meeting with NHS Cumbria's Chief Executive, Sue Page where the two discussed progress towards the development of a new Cancer Unit at Westmorland General Hospital.
MP Tim Farron will this Saturday take to the hills around Cartmel to compete in the Ultimate Sticky Toffee 16KM Challenge to raise funds for a local charity campaign hoping to raise enough money to redevelop the playground in Allithwaite village.
Last week the BNP candidate penned a rant of some length to the letters page of the Herald. At times of uncertainty including worries about financial security and employment the BNP will always seek to tap into people's fear for now and the future. For a few it is tantalising to show support for this party, perhaps to give the other parties, especially the government a kick for failing them.
The Government is being pressured by Liberal Democrat MPs to bring forward changes to water bills to cut them for most South West water customers, following a further above inflation rise in bills. South West water bills, set by the water regulator OFWAT, have been far the highest in the country since water was privatised by the Conservatives in the 1980s.
