Robinson pledges to 'do his bit' for the armed services

Stephen Robinson, in the running to be Chelmsford's Lib Dem MP, has joined the British Legion campaign to ensure the next government does its bit to help the Armed Forces family. Stephen made the pledge on the British Legion website - to ensure that Service personnel and their families, bereaved Armed Forces families and the ex-Service community will see greater representation under the next government.

Conservative Plans for Paid Parking in Sandgate

I note with interest the recent newsletter distributed by the Conservatives to a few houses in Sandgate. It's always good to see the Sandgate Conservatives annual contact with residents, but am concerned that your normally genial mask has somewhat slipped with an attack on those pointing out Conservative Shepway Council's plans for pay and display parking in Sandgate.

Mayor Dave Hodgson Reverses Council Plans for Greenfield Developments

Mayor Dave Hodgson has reversed Council proposals, submitted back in 2008, for housing and commercial developments on a range of green spaces across Bedford Borough. The move means that important green spaces including the Bedford Athletic Rugby Ground on Wentworth Drive, Mile Road Allotments, Berry Farm in Wootton and Jackman's Farm in Brickhill have been saved from development.

LOCAL LIB DEMS LAUNCH MANIFESTO

Local Liberal Democrats met this week in Burniston to launch their election manifesto. Lib Dem supporters from Whitby, Scarborough and many of the constituency's rural villages met up to hear candidate Tania Exley-Moore deliver a sneak preview of the party's election manifesto ahead of party leader, Nick Clegg's official launch yesterday.
