Lib Dem LGBT equality group Delga and their friends tonight celebrated twenty-one years as a recognised Liberal Democrat party group. Guest speakers included Stephen Gilbert MP, Evan Harris, and veteran liberal gay rights campaigner Bernard Greaves.
"Current legislation degrades same-sex couples to a second-tier partnership and leads to unnecessary pain and trouble for anyone wishing to change their legally recognised gender, forcing them to divorce or dissolve their civil partnership and enter into a different commitment."
Liberal Democrats Conference, this afternoon, expresses its deepest sympathy to the families of the 1600 people killed by the floods in Pakistan and extreme concern over the continuing suffering of the estimated 20 million people affected, 7 million critically.
