Muggers and drug users area to be cleared in Springvale
The area on the land beside Beacon Cemetery going up to Beacon Street is a haunt for muggers for people using the path after nightfall. The same bushes that hide the muggers at night allow cover for drug users during the day. Springvale Lib Dem councillor, Richard Whitehouse was approached by concerned residents and others that found the path too steep and uneven to use in any case. Cllr Whitehouse said," Wolverhampton City Council has signed up to the 'Working Neighbourhoods Fund' and following my enquiries it is planned to use that fund to provide 'Land Apprentices', that is, young people who wish to develop skills in landscape work."
