In Basingtoke the Tory Council is planning to spend over £11 million on the Council Offices. Reports seen by Councillors revealed the plans involve spending tens of thousands on new carpets and desks.
Liberal Democrats in the Royal Borough have promised to make the Council Carbon Neutral by 2020, if they are successful in the forthcoming local elections.

The Conservative's state once again that the Liberal Democrat's Manifesto failed to guarantee the weekly bin collection.
Chelmsford Council has unanimously backed the Liberal Democrats, who called for radiotherapy facilities to be provided at Broomfield Hospital. "At present patients from Chelmsford have to travel to Colchester or Southend for treatment which can have adverse effects. Treatment needs to be completed at their local hospital" said Cllr Freda Mountain.
