The Surrey Police Authority is to hold a widespread public consultation on their plans to expand their force by about 200 new constables over the next 3 years, paid for by cutting about 50 senior officers and relocating Police Stations to council offices and supermarkets. About 100 of the new officers would join the neighbourhood police teams of "Bobbies on the Beat". This initiative has been supported by the Lib Dem members of the Surrey Police Authority.
An MP who will get things done for Devizes
An MP who will get things done for Devizes. We can give this constituency a REAL change, not another Tory MP. Instead a Local MP who has lived here for over 20 years and wants to represent the interests of the very rural area we live in.
The report on incompetent nurses continuing to treat patients issued by the Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence (another quango - CHRE) is disturbing. It seems the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) are accused of closing investigations prematurely without proper authority. Ordinary people might well wonder what is going on? Surely hospitals employing midwifes or nurses should be able to act promptly and quickly when problems arise in their hospitals with patients properly protected and investigations carried out swiftly with expertise.
The NHS is currently sending out a mail drop. It contains important information about care records. It seems the NHS is collecting data on our medical histories, treatment etc which it says will help deliver better safer care. It is called summary care records. It all sound pretty harmless. Who could argue about Health Professionals having access to relevant data when they treat patients? Especially as the NHS is giving assurances about who will be able to access this information. There is a provision to opt out. But how many of us will want to do that. Over time, the leaflet notes further details will be added to the summary care records. All of this will be stored online using secure website.
