A Successful Liberal Democrat Conference in Brighton

Like many delegates Nick and Rosemarie from Tring combined participation in the Liberal Democrat Conference with visits to rellies and a short holiday. They went down by train - taking a car to Brighton is a crazy thing to do - stayed in a convenient sea front hotel and had some excellent meals.

A new report lays bare the chaos set to envelop the UK's food systems in the event of a "no deal" when Britain leaves the European Union next May. It comes from a partnership the Universities of City, Sussex, and Cardiff and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, the voice for environmental and public health professionals across the country, representing more than 8,000 members working in the public, private and non-profit sectors.

Wealden Libdems were out and about on Saturday 29th September to promote the People's Vote March which takes place in London on Saturday 20th October. This was a national day to encourage more people to join the march and demand a People's Vote on the final Brexit deal, with an option to stay in the EU.

The madness that is Brexit: Brexiteers still claim its Operation Fear, nothing has changed ... EU27 ministers choose Paris as the new location for the European Banking Authority (EBA) and Amsterdam for the European Medicines Agency (EMA). As Brexit hurtles towards an end game which is unlikely to satisfy anyone, it is important to acknowledge that decisions have already been taken which will impact the UK economy, jobs and services. The scale of the changes about to hit the UK are of such a magnitude that many are still choosing to ignore, challenge or face the consequences of the 2016 referendum. Operation Fear? - well many Brexit decisions have already been taken by UK business unwillingly to wait any longer for these shambolic negotiations to be concluded. Some have already been actioned.
