Counting for the Bedford Borough Mayoral By-Election has begun. A result is expected during the afternoon. The latest news will be reported here and on www.daveformayor.org.uk as it happens.
A warning by the Environment Agency that the 'wrong kind of rain' threatens a repeat of the 2007 floods underlines the need for co-ordinated action to improve drainage and water management, says local Euro MP Liz Lynne.
Resurfacing has taken place at Kinross Drive, Colgrove Way and Winton Way in North Kenton, with Warrington Road, Renwick Avenue, Charles Avenue and King George Road (all off Fawdon Park Road) to follow.
