Is WC transport plan off the rails?

Wiltshire Council has to produce a Transport Plan setting out its proposals for the county's transport network up to 2026. The draft plan went out to consultation during October and November, and 119 people or organisations responded.

Shepway Council find 14,000 new electors

The revised Register of Electors is published on 1 December each year, following the annual canvass. This year's canvass in the Shepway area has had a record response in excess of 94% of all properties in the district - the most recent record was 83.5% in 2009.

Spare Snow Tyres Mr Carter? Stick a Sock On It...

During the recent snow, Kent County Council Leader Paul Carter was urging drivers to keep a set of snow wheels and tyres to cope with heavy snow in future, sayinmg that we can learn from the Scandinavians and that more investment in salting is not the answer.

Good News for Disabled Children from Government

Some delayed good news (which I missed at the time in something of an email flurry): the Government announced in December that they will be providing local authorities with £800 million over the next four years to fund short breaks for families with disabled children. This represents approximately £200m per year, a £22m year on year increase on 2010 funding.
