Fraud warning to residents

Epsom & Ewell Borough Council is advising residents to be on their guard following reports of possible fraudulent activity in the Borough. According to information received by the Council, telephone calls are being made to residents advising them their Council Tax banding has been changed and they are to receive rebates backdated to 1 April 1993.

Burgess Hill schools merger issues raised by local councillor

Liberal Democrat Cllr Sue Knight has welcomed proposals to merge our two Mid Sussex special needs schools. However she has raised concerns that a number of questions need answering relating to the possible merger, which would see the two schools relocated onto the site of Oakmeeds Community Comprehensive in Burgess Hill.

Dungeness not in new nuclear sites list

Dungeness is the only site to have been excluded from a list of 11 potential candidates for new nuclear power station build sites. The decision by the Government backed 10 of the 11 proposed sites across England and Wales, but excluded Dungeness as an option on environmental grounds.
