Wolverhampton South West Liberal Democrats defy the snow
The Met Office issued an extreme weather warning for England, Wales and parts of eastern Scotland. More than 110 schools, colleges and nurseries closed in the West Midlands. The afternoon meeting at Wolverhampton Racecourse was abandoned despite the famed heated all weather track. Parts of the Midlands experienced temperatures between -4C and -7C on Monday and bus services across the West Midlands were sticking only to main routes. But this was not enough to prevent Wolverhampton South West Liberal Democrats walking or cycling to a meeting to plan their next winning campaign!

Lib Dems condemn rises in car parking charges
Conservative plans to introduce a 33% increase (£3.00 to £4.00) in car parking charges for residents and workers who want to park for up to five hours in Brentwood's William Hunter Way and the Coptfold Road Multi Storey Car Parks were roundly condemned by the Liberal Democrats at Tuesday night's Highways Panel meeting.

Lib Dems welcome High Court decision to block Capel Incinerator
Arising from a challenge by Capel Parish Council to the Surrey Waste Plan, a High Court judge has stated that he will quash SCC's recent planning permission for the Capel Incinerator. A similar thing happened to the previous planning consent given in 2001, though that was on a challenge by the Capel Action Group to the SCC officers' report to the Planning & Regulatory Committee.
