Liberal Democrat Conference supported the right of Humanist celebrants to conduct marriage ceremonies, both of opposite and same-sex couples.
Despite increased competition from many big names, both of the Liberal Democrat Humanist and Secularists fringe meetings were well attended and lively affairs.
Liberal Democrats have reacted with fury to plans for councillors to attend annual Reception parties hosted by the Chairman of the Council at the taxpayers' expense. The events, last year which were held at the prestigious Bowood Hotel and Country Club and Antropous House in Amesbury, offer free drinks and canapés to councillors and dignitaries celebrating the achievements of the council and other organisations over the previous year.
Commenting on the IMF's report on the British economy released today, Co-Chair of the Liberal Democrat Treasury Parliamentary Committee, Stephen Williams said:
