Plans are underway to hold a number of events in Epsom & Ewell's newly created QEII spaces. The borough council has provided information packs to Friends of Parks groups and all residents are welcome to get involved.

Green Belt Fight Won

The new Labour administration at the council were proposing to build the houses next to the Gosforth Wildlife Reserve. Councillor Peter Leggott said, "This is fantastic news for everyone in our city. Having just become a granddad for the first time last year I am delighted that the reserve will be preserved for the future."

Wiltshire Liberal Democrats' alternative Council Budget.

The Lib Dem budget proposals were focused on rebuilding local communities in Wiltshire. The Conservative Administration on Wiltshire Council has taken decisions since 2009 which are divorced from the needs and wants of local communities. Wiltshire Lib Dems want to reverse that, putting jobs back onto the High Streets.

Bringing Bedford Park Café Back into Use

A number of residents have contacted me in recent times to ask if and when the Bedford Park Café building will be brought into use as a café, and my response to date has always been that I have authorised the necessary work there and hope to see it operating as soon as possible. That's why I'm very pleased that after essential safety and refurbishment work, I'm now able to say that the building is almost ready for full use as a cafe and the Council is advertising for potential operators to come forward and tender for the contract.
