Brentwood Lib Dem County Cllr David Kendall attended the Cross rail exhibition at Shenfield Parish Hall last night (27th July 2011) and raised serious concerns with Crossrail officials regarding the following issues:
Brentwood's Lib Dem Leader Cllr David Kendall has agreed to join a cross party Town Hall Delivery Group to work on trying to achieve what was agreed at the recent meeting to save the Town Hall (5/7/11).
LGBT Lib Dems, the party body concerned with LGBT equality, has expressed disappointment in the delay to the Government's consultation into full marriage equality. Chair Adrian Trett said "We are confident that the Government will deliver on marriage equality, and will keep working with MPs and ministers until this is achieved."
An application to renovate The Manse in Boar Street was permitted by the southern area planning committee in Juky, despite being recommended for refusal by WC planning officers.
As I write this, there is a crisis in the Horn of Africa that is claiming the lives of thousands of children. Famine has been declared. Millions face starvation. In Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia we are witnessing the worst humanitarian catastrophe in a generation.
"We've been into the local schools, the children have designed posters which are displayed on all litter bins locally (dog dirt can go in the normal litter bins), we've caught a few people and fined them, but still it goes on" says Fawdon Councillor Brenda Hindmarsh.
