Liberal Democrats at County Hall have reacted with shock at the extent of the cuts being planned by the ruling Conservative administration. The council have announced spending cuts of £122m as a result of central government funding cuts and other "cost pressures" of £100m.
The decision by the Coalition Government to put into action Liberal Democrat policies to clean up politics has been welcomed by Liberal Democrat campaigners in Wolverhampton.

"Current legislation degrades same-sex couples to a second-tier partnership and leads to unnecessary pain and trouble for anyone wishing to change their legally recognised gender, forcing them to divorce or dissolve their civil partnership and enter into a different commitment."
Liberal Democrats Conference, this afternoon, expresses its deepest sympathy to the families of the 1600 people killed by the floods in Pakistan and extreme concern over the continuing suffering of the estimated 20 million people affected, 7 million critically.
