DELGA members and supporters may be interested in a public protest next week over the government's Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill 2008. The bill includes proposals to outlaw swathes of internet pornography, which it is anticipated will disproportionately affect those downloading same-sex erotica, and has also raised concerns amongst many disabled people.
Too many families in Scarborough and Whitby are losing their homes because of difficulties over mortgage payments, claims leading local Liberal Democrat campaigner Tania Exley-Moore. New figures show that 441orders for home repossession were issued by North Yorkshire county court in 2007 for Scarborough and Whitby. This is a rise of 26% since 2006.

The inner circle bus route, which has run on a 15-mile loop around the city for decades, was planned to be dropped as a result of a Labour budget proposal to withdraw its subsidy.
