Shops Must Reduce Wasteful Packaging

Paul Holmes, Liberal Democrat MP for Chesterfield has backed a Bill presented by Liberal Democrat Shadow Local Government Secretary Andrew Stunell MP to require all large shops to accept packing returned by customers.

Use of hyperactivity drugs soars

The use of drugs to treat hyperactivity in children has soared worldwide, say US researchers. Between 1993 and 2003, prescriptions of ADHD medications, such as Ritalin, almost tripled. Global spending on ADHD drugs increased nine-fold, with 83% occurring in the US, a study in Health Affairs reported.

Speed bumps 'bar disabled access'

A DISABLED woman who broke her back five years ago claims she is being denied access to Ilkley Moor because of speed bumps which are too painful for her to drive over. Christine Gale, of Addingham, is calling on Bradford Council to assess whether the traffic-calming measures it has introduced on the route are preventing disabled drivers from using it.

Shepway Lib Dems want to offer our congratulations on the birth of Daniel to Folkestone member and campaigner Gary Fuller and his wife Jan. Baby Daniel is doing very well having been born at 19:39 on Monday, weighed in at a huge 11lb and 1oz, and measured 60cm!
