A mixed bag of Council meetings this week: On Monday I attended a training session for all Councillors. The subject was "The role of a Councillor in Corporate Parenting". When I say all councillors it was a pity only around ten turned up.
Over the last two weeks there have been two reports that paint a shocking picture of the way some of our most vulnerable people are treated. They are damming indictments of the managers and politicians involved in our caring services.
The Fuel Poverty Bill has been thrown out of parliament because not enough MPs could be bothered to vote.

Westmorland and Lonsdale MP Tim Farron has pledged to be in Parliament tomorrow to give his support to a new parliamentary bill aimed at ending fuel poverty.
MP Tim Farron today had a high level meeting with NHS Cumbria's Chief Executive, Sue Page where the two discussed progress towards the development of a new Cancer Unit at Westmorland General Hospital.
