Mill Hill by-election result

Labour held the Mill Hill seat in the by-election held on 23 July 2015 due to the resignation of the previous Labour councillor. Labour increased their share of the vote as did the Liberal Democrats, UKIP and the Conservatives decreased.

We have been asked where to address objections to a possible motorway service station at J17. Now is too soon to object. Please wait until there is a planning application and you have the number of the pl.application to identify your objection. We will let you know the number if /when any application is submitted. ……………………………… The week before last, Rickmansworth Local Area TRDC Planning Officer Peter Simons explained that TRDC petitioned had Parliament about the issued raised by the HS2 proposals. TRDC has negotiated with the promoter (HS2 Ltd) for more clarity on the scheme and for positive commitments to improve the proposals for this area. Four issues have been deferred to a consortium of local authorities working together on the technical issues of sound, noise and vibration. We are concerned that the scheme would severely affect the local area because of pollution and traffic, and the very large construction compounds to be sited near West Hyde/Maple Cross. These compounds are expected to be operational
