Dundee Liberal Democrats have today (Tuesday 5th December) praised Dundee City Council for again running the e-card "Send a Christmas Card from Dundee!" this year.
Liberal Democrat Environment Spokesperson Chris Huhne MP will be coming to Heywood on Saturday, 16th December to help pensioners in Roeacre Court with their Christmas celebrations. He will be attending Councillor Peter Rush's Annual Christmas gathering, last year's guest was none other than Jimmy Cricket and Chris will be coming to Heywood to talk about his "Green Christmas" idea.

Over 500 retired Gurkha soldiers will march from Parliament Square to hand deliver a letter to the Prime Minister at Downing Street at 11.30am on Thursday 14th December 2006. The Gurkhas will protest about the Government's failure to properly honour the right for retired Gurkhas to become citizens of the UK on retirement and to protest about the appallingly low pensions paid to retired Gurkhas. Hundreds of retired Gurkhas who should have the right to citizenship are having their applications unfairly held up by the Home Office.
In a further step to improve community safety the local MP Chris Huhne has presented West End's two recently appointed Police Community Support Officers with two new bicycles. He met with the officers Ed Pritt and Michelle Towle plus local PC Gavin Smith. These have been funded by the Eastleigh Community Safety Partnership and Partnership Manager, Peter Baldry, from Eastleigh Borough Council believes they will be of great benefit to the local community.
