Basingstoke Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidate (PPC), Janice Spalding, is backing an appeal to help save the lives of more people with cancer in the constituency and across the UK.
The decision on which housing sites should go to consultation was formally made by a meeting of West Berkshire Council in the early summer. However, this decision "rubber stamped" recommendations made by the Planning Policy Task Group, which meets in private and whose minutes are confidential. This meant that residents were not aware of the reasons why particular sites were selected.
Councillors in the West of Shropshire have slammed Severn Trent Water for their heavy handed attitude in closing roads needlessly and without proper consultation. This follows a spate of incidents afflicting a number of villages in the Bishops Castle and Ludlow areas Heather Kidd said: "I came home one evening to find the road through Chirbury shut. No-one had been consulted not the community, public transport companies or myself. Granted two leaks had been detected but no thought or effort had been taken to alert key road users such as the school bus people or the community at large.
