Letter to Editors about the future of our health care
Dear Editor Having been involved in the hospital/ health debate for several years I am still greatly concerned that services will be designed for the health service and not for the people using them. Most people will understand that our health service is under stress with increased numbers of people using it, drugs and technology costing more and advancing at a rapid rate. What the health service will need to do is fundamentally understand nature of communities, deprived people, the problems of rural transport and access. Perhaps even more importantly the understanding that all roads do not lead to Telford - they do lead to Shrewsbury. Ambulances in rural Shropshire and Montgomeryshire have a poor record in response times. These need to be added to the travel times when any decision for the A&E site is made. Some people could easily take 2 or more hours to get there. This really could be life threatening and makes a mockery of the golden hour we all see on TV. My simple message is that health care is

COMPLAINT BY LOCAL MOBILE PHONE CAMPAIGNERS UPHELD
A complaint against the mobile operator EE by Shropshire residents complaining about the standard of their service has been upheld - at least in part! Heather Kidd said "We have had a mammoth struggle even getting EE to talk about the poor quality of their service in Western Shropshire. They either give customers lame excuses or simply dont reply to their letters, texts or e-mails. As Councillors elected to represent our communities, Charlotte Barnes, Nigel Hartin and myself have simply been ignored" Now CISAS, an arbitrator appointed by OFFCOM has investigated the claim and found that EE has been in breach of its duty of customer care and called on it to appologise. Vince Cable MP Heather continued " Regrettably the arbitrator cant comment on the technical aspect of the complaint and it will be interesting, given this company's record up to date, to see if we ever get an apology.
