A lame duck Prime Minister says Ed Davey

Commenting on Tony Blair's speech to the Labour Party conference, Chairman of the Liberal Democrat Campaigns and Communication Committee, Ed Davey MP said: "This was a speech from a lame duck Prime Minister. In more than an hour of oratory, he failed to tackle the crucial question the country needs answered - exactly when is he going?"

Conference 2006

LDEG had a very successful conference with three packed fringe events and a busy stall. The first fringe event was "The EU Constitution - what next?" with Andrew Duff MEP and Michael Moore MP, followed by "Can the EU switch off climate change?" with Chris Davies MEP, Chris Huhne MP and Fiona Harvey (FT environment correspondent). The third event was "Question Time on the EU" with Paddy Ashdown, HE The Turkish Ambassador, Diana Wallis MEP and Steve Richards (political correspondent with The Independent). Farron backs call for complete broadband coverage

Local MP, Tim Farron met with Richard Walters and Derek Hewitt from Commendium to discuss 'Project Access' today. The project will hopefully see communities all over Cumbria being able to access reliable broadband internet technology. Tim was particularly concerned about those parts of his constituency that at present are unable to access broadband, like Old Hutton, Cowgill and the Duddon Valley.
