New BBC data gives further detail on how North Herts voted in the EU referendum

Earlier today, the BBC published new Ward-by-Ward data showing how different parts of the country voted in last June's EU referendum. We've known for some time that North Hertfordshire backed Remain by 54.4% overall, based on a turnout of 78.2%. But today's data allows us to see how that headline number translates into individual District Council wards:

Beds shortage shows need for Kendal Urgent Care Centre - Farron

The latest NHS data reveals that local hospitals have been operating at unsafe levels this winter, with more than 99% of all beds occupied at certain times. South Lakeland MP Tim Farron is calling for extra funding, as well as an Urgent Care Centre at Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal to help relieve the pressure elsewhere.

Cumbrian schools face cuts crisis

Local Head Teachers have warned that schools across Cumbria face a funding crisis, which could see 625 teachers cut by 2020. South Cumbrian MP Tim Farron has warned that this would be "devastating for local schools" and called for more investment in education.
