We think that the Green Party which dominates the Cabinet Forest of Dean District Council has not gone far enough in making short-term parking in Newent free of charge.
In our latest Focus newsletter for Newent & Taynton we have highlighted the frequent spills of untreated sewage near to the Newent Sewage Treatment Plant near Cleeve Mill, as well as two smaller spills into Peacock's Brook
The high levels of phosphorus and nitrogen from the untreated sewage, and even small amounts in treated sewage is really bad for the ecosytems upon which plants and wildlife depend.
Edwina Hannaford was a lot of things to a lot of people, but to me she was the epitome of a great Councillor, working hard every day to make a positive difference to individuals, to Looe, to Cornwall and to the planet.
So deeply saddened to lose my dearest colleague, Cornwall Councillor Edwina Hannaford, after a prolonged struggle against a particularly aggressive form of cancer.
