Local MP Tim Farron was pleased to accept a cheque for £100 from the Kendal branch of the Natwest Bank towards the campaign to save the Holehird home for severely disabled adults near Windermere.
Local MP Tim Farron's campaign to save the 42 local post offices threatened by Government closures continued this week as he secured a promise from Post Office Limited that they would read every one of the letters they receive during the consultation. He also secured information which shows that many of the decisions about closure will be made between mid February and mid March, and so Mr Farron is urging residents of South Lakeland to send him letters of support for their post office by 14 February. So far over a thousand letters of support have been sent from communities in Mr Farron's constituency alone, and as the impact of a loss of a branch on a community will be taken into account, it is especially important that people continue to show support.
