Half-sacked Prescott is national laughing stock - Lib Dem Deputy Leader Vince Cable MP

Commenting on calls from Labour MPs for John Prescott to resign as Deputy Prime Minster, Liberal Democrat Deputy Leader and Shadow Chancellor, Vince Cable MP said: "John Prescott has become a national laughing stock. By only half-sacking the Deputy Prime Minster at the reshuffle, Tony Blair created this mess by not having the courage or conviction to finish the job. The fact that John Prescott is being paid large sums of money to do little or nothing adds to the general malaise surrounding this government and the feeling that ministers are incapable of tackling serious issues."

Ex-Birmingham Labour MP attacks Blair on Human Rights

Former Labour MP Terry Davies has attacked the Prime Minister's plans to further downgrade Human Rights. Mr. Davies who is now head of the Council of Europe said of Blair's it was false and dangerous to argue there was a conflict between human rights and national security.

Paul Rowen MP demands answers after controversial health appointment!

Rochdale MP - Paul Rowen has written to Secretary of State for Health after the controversial appointment of a Health Boss. Businessman John Jesky has been given the permanent role of Chairman of the Pennine Acute Trust. He has been doing the job in a temporary capacity for 6 months, this initial appointment was met with scepticism by North-West MP's.

Rochdale Liberal Democrats finally have control of Rochdale Council - ending a year of a Tory / Labour Coalition. One Councillor was determined not to miss the event. Councillor Christine Akram, who gained her Smallbridge and Firgrove seat 2 weeks ago had a QUADRUPLE heart by-pass operation the week before her first Council Meeting.
