Vince Cable has been on Radio 4 this morning outlining plans being brought forward by Lib Dem Government Minister Steve Webb to introduce a universal State Pension of £140 to all those of pensionable age, regardless of previous contributions.
Lib Dem County Councillors Stephen Cooksey and David Goodwin have worked for some months as part of a small Council Task Group established to make recommendations about improving the chaotic arrangements that the County had in place when the heavy snow fell last winter. Many of the recommendations of the Group have been accepted by the Cabinet, which agreed to provide an additional £1 million to improve the service in the coming winter.

At the launch of the Poppy Appeal, in its 90th year, 5 veterans each aged 90, represented the brave people who gave their lives for our freedom. After a moving ceremony and where the military history of the 5 veterans were read out, schoolchildren presented each of the 5 with the first poppies of the year. 5 young servicemen and women also received their poppies - the picture of young and old standing together was a strong image.
The chair of the Chinese Liberal Democrats, Merlene Emerson, has been shortlisted for the Liberal Democrat London wide list for the Greater London Authority in 2012. She is one of just 11 candidates that party members will be choosing between as part of our democratic process.
Saturday night saw a moving candle light vigil at Brighton's Old Steine against hate crime. Lib Dem Councillors Paul Elgood and Cllr David Watkins attended the vigil and David spoke for the Liberal Democrats.
