Environment Manifesto

Nick Clegg launches Liberal Democrat environment manifesto

The proposals include a £3.1bn green economic stimulus package, plans to slash energy use and improve energy efficiency, and a UK Infrastructure Bank to embed green investment for the long term. Commenting in the Guardian, Friends of the Earth executive director, Andy Atkins said: "They (The Liberal Democrats) have the most ambitious and integrated environmental commitments of the three main parties, with Labour and the Conservatives lagging behind."

Today John Barnett, Liberal Democrat candidate for Dundee West, joined St Andrews Liberal Democrat Councillor Robin Waterston on a day trip to Dunfermline to support the campaign of Willie Rennie, winner of a spectacular by-election in 2006, in Gordon Brown's home constituency.
