MP to stay up all night to save £15 billion

Father of four Tim Farron MP is used to sleepless nights, however tonight may prove to be more of a challenge. Tim is expecting to be up until possibly 7am tomorrow morning as voting takes place on the ID Cards Bill. The majority of letters in Tim's post bag on this subject have agreed with his position to oppose the introduction of the cards.

Roman Way Allotment Devastation

Residents in Roman Way were devastated yesterday when the owner of the allotment site on Roman Way "cleared" the allotments and removed fences to the site effectively allowing free access to the area. Piles of spoil have also been left on the site, by the boundary fence to the railway cutting which directly by the allotments.

Government must improve appalling environmental record

Four senior ministers have made one of the most embarrassing admissions of the Labour Government's nine years in office - that the official policy for fighting climate change has failed. A government target to cut CO2 emissions by 2010 may be lowered from 20% to 18% in a review of its climate policy. Sir Menzies Campbell has challenged Tony Blair to hold his Ministers to account over the appalling failure.
